Your English is great. North America has abandoned the phonics system and has gone with the "spell it how it sounds" in school.
My own childrens spelling is the physical shits. Our school systems train of thought is the children will pick up the proper spelling as they go on in life.
It's all very much a joke. Pure laziness.
