I know there are good and bad at all income levels, but in my experience too it's the rich guy that will try to chisel you out of every dime, go back on his word, refuse to contribute to a community project, pay his bills as late as possible, and generally be a selfish jerk, whereas the poor guy, maybe because his reputation is all he owns, will keep his word, give what he can (usually his labor), offer sincerely to help, and generally be a lot easier guy to work with.

Let's also not forget that when it comes to government benefits, it's the rich who get a lot more from the government than the poor. Sure some of the most desperately poor get welfare, SSI, SSD, medicare, medicaid, WIC, and other handouts, but what the rich get is a court system (try doing business without enforceable contracts!), military defense of their foreign interests, a stable currency, various regulations cleverly written to lock out competition, and other perks that are harder to put down in exact numbers but are worth a lot more money than all those welfare checks.
