A friend of mine has a W200 with a Poly in it & it's running weird. He asked me to diagnose the problem & I have an idea...but turn to you experts :)
His truck starts & runs well...better it seems when it's cold. It has lots of compression & even compression but it has tons of blow-by. The blow-by reaks of gas & exhaust. On several occasions, I've seem Poly intake manifolds where if you remove the riveted plate on the bottom side of the intake...under the carb...the exhaust port has cracked...I guess with age or whatever.
If that port was cracked & blowing exhaust into the engine...wouldn't this be the symptom?
Just thinking before he tears it all apart for nothing.
Anyone ever had this problem?
