Convert PG & Townie doorlatch?

Has anyone found the stuff to change front doors to bearclaw and stud type latches? I would love to do away with the star gear. I cut up a spare door today and don't see how I could still use the original handle and locks. My bodyman says there are aftermarket latches available. any help will be apreciated. Now you can go back to your political campaign. Ha
