I got a start on the cab tonight. Cut off the bent up/cut up sides, and started chasing rust at the front corners. The "undercoating" which looks like roof tar had hidden some really thin spots so I cut them back to good metal. Then I started looking more closely at the bottoms of the kicker panels and saw more rust, so I took them out and found some structural damage on the passenger side, but it is in a flat spot so I can cut it out and weld in a new piece. At this point I have had to cut out so much that I have to seriously rethink how I am going to reinforce the floor so it doesn't just break loose from the dash. I think some 2x4 tubing and 1/4" plate should do the trick. See what I have left.
