Does your truck run yet. If I run my 51 ffPW out of gas it can be a pain to start. It has problems getting gas to the fuel pump. It takes 3 to 4 attempts with gas down the carb to get it going.

There are other ways to help get gas to the pump but we will not discuss them here.

I have considered a 6 volt electric pump at times. My Willys always ran dry when it sat for a while. It seems that the gas evaporated out of the carb and the pump lost its prime. My brother, when he owned it, put in an electric pump that he would turn on for a minute then start the truck. Worked like a charm. He left the manual pump there and ran the truck off of it.

I see the same issue at times with my carryall if it sits for a long time. Putting a new carb in helped. The engine in both cases is a Chevy SB with a Carter/Edelbrock AFB carb.
