I was working night shift at the time. I had my alarm set to "radio". That morning it really got my attention and I made it to the TV and watched as the second plane hit during the live boadcast.
I did not make it to work that day.
Not much was said to me about it, but I did get the impression they felt that my excuse for absence was "lame". I also wore my "Just try to burn this one" VFW flag t-shirt to work the next day. That was definately against the dress code. A few days later someone at work called me "Osama" because of my beard.
It was a wonder I did not hurt someone.
These events really effect my emotions and I am not embarassed to admit it.
Yes, may we never forget.
