if cylinder walls are good then stick with it for now. pulling pan is easy enough. if you are interested in doing the valve guides in the truck it can be done. let me know. (long explanation)
for the future if you pull the head every 15K or so and clean the carbon out it is much easier. that was a standard practice in the old days.
