I was recently out West, I have always wanted a power wagon. You see allot of them east of the Rockies. Anyway I ran across another 4 or 5, either not for sale or to much. Anyway I stopped at this this Arts and Craft fair at a local town. The fire department had donations and the high bidders received the item at 4:00 pm. We walked the fair with the others and my wife notice that the fire department was auctioning of it's 1964 Dodge fire truck. 1,200 minimum bid I asked one of the fireman at the table if it was a Power wagen, he said yes and asked if I would like to look at it. To make a long story short the 1964 Power wagon was and the high bidder at 4:00 was me. $1,200 for a fine example of a super well garage keep truck. I live 1,800 miles from where I purchased the truck. So I get a call after a week that says the county did not have title to the truck and should not of put it up for bid. It was owed by the forestry department and could not be sold unless it was at public auction or something like that. It also had to be offered to some other fire department in the state if it was going to be taken out of service.

I was a happy camper for just about a week. But I still wonder if maybe someone else that knew about it maybe made a higher offer after I left. Maybe the one guy that wanted $3,000 for just 20 miles up the road, that I told about. My mistake.

Anyway the check is in the mail and the search is on again, hopefully it won't be another five years.
