Why can't you check the shoes? All it takes is to remove the wheel and pull the drum off.


If you think you have a vacuum leak, slap a vacuum gauge on the intake and see what your vacuum reading is. Then, disconnect the vacuum line to the booster and plug it off on the intake and see what the reading is then. If it went up, your booster is bad. Especially if it makes little difference on how hard you have to press the brake pedal.
