I have a '67 (steel crank) 318ci to replace the tired one in my '67 W-200. It has alot of carbon build-up on cylnders 1-4-5-8. The motor has 107kmi on it and the cam looks as if it's burn near the lobes. I am going to do a complete rebuild as I am going to be depending on this rig for local transportation for a while. My question is, What has been sucessfull for others who have rebuilt as far as reliability, performance, and economy. I was thinking of putting in a edelbrock performance package to compliment the 4bbl Carter AFB I already have for it, and put on dual exaust, but it's kind of a piecemeal way to do it. I am stuck between that and buying the deluxe rebuild kit from Kanter, that includes just about everything for $800 and the parts are guaranteed for as long as you own the vehicle. I just want a little more UMPH! out of her. Maby I'm asking too much for a 318. Any advice is appreciated!
