I had my'68 WM300 in Iowa last year at the "wild" trail ride (before it was an official part of the rally) and it was VERY, VERY muddy. The only modifications it had was new 36 Gumbos and a good running, ungoverned 251. It did great! This year I had my '54 M37 w/ 38 inch Boggers, a Lockrite in back and a very tired 230. It did real good except it didn't have the power to equal the traction of the tires. I will rebuild the engine this winter and be back. I have been off roading for over 20 years now and I am amazed at how well heavy, long wheelbase, stiffly sprung and underpowered trucks do with a good driver. Regards, Andy Tierney
