I read Gordon's site regarding how he learned of Tuckers as a young boy in his father's books. I grew up skiing at Okemo Mtn. in Ludlow, Vermont, and they had a fleet of Tuckers. I loved watching them run all over, and thought they were a lot more fun than traditional 2 tracked cats. I can still see the snow fly when the front tracks were turned all the way to either side. They didn't have any carry all style bodies, open beds only. One time they tried to pull a car out off a ditch on the access road. The tracks could not get any bite, but I think it was the first time I realized all four tracks were driven when I watched all four sliding the cleats on the asphalt. At first I thought for sure they'd get the car out, but they didn't. They don't have them any more, but the local snowmobile club has one to groom their trails. It's a newer one with bogies and rubber bands instead of pontoons. Who knows where the old one's went. I never rode in one, and I know if I asked, one of the drivers would have taken us for a ride.
