We started out last week with a trail ride up Bufalo Hump near Orogrand Idaho. I was driving my M151A2 and my brother had his Chenowith buggy and we had some quads. We made the hump and the next day headed for Whitewater ranch on the Salmon river. My step son was running point and m issed a tight corner and launched the quad about 15' into the creek and then endoed it for about 60'though a bunch of Power Wagon sized boulders.
When we cought up with him he had managed to get out of the water but was in tough shape. My wife, brother and I are all EMTs and I had a truma bag in the 151. We cut his shirt off and found major deformity in uper arm and shoulder and 4" gash in the back of his head. We ended up life flighting him out of Elkcity in a chopper.
He just got out of surgery today He had to have part of his shouler socket screwed back together. Speed kills!
We spent about an hour winching the quad out of that mess.
