I'm not saying they don't help. I'm just saying mine didn't. I haven't tried to figure out why. I had to run new lines to plumb it to the manifold and wiper hose. I need to just take the lines off and put my finger over the holes in the pump and see if it sucks and blows like it should. My bigger concern is that the lever arm, which is quite different from that on the single-acting pump that used to be there, isn't fitting against the cam properly and so it isn't pumping like it should. I've been warned that there are many similar-looking pumps that have slight differences in the lever that rubs on the cam and if you get the wrong one for your engine, it won't work. It does seem to pump gas, but all I've done is idle the truck since I put the new pump on, and haven't driven it up any long hills or anything like that that would test the fuel pump capacity.
