We've been through this before, but just for fun - I'll jump into the toilet bowl again.

Some people actually ENJOY working on vehicles - for me it is therapy that is cheaper and more effective than prozac.

How many people on this list learned what they have learned about practical mechanics, bodywork, quantam physics by stroking their greasy trailer queen? You have to do the work if you want to learn - reading about it in a book is nice, but of no practical use.

If you lead the life of luxury and can pay for other people to do your "dirty" work for you - then congratulations. I'll tell you that I have more than paid back any losses I have had on prior turds in the money I have saved on working on my family's vehicles. Not to mention the headaches avoided in not buyng a bad investment ... by knowing what to look for in someone elses spray-painted turds.

I am proud to be polishing my '69 Road Runner Turdmobile ... and my procrastination (constipation?) has paid off! There are now Repro Quarters, Doors, Fenders and Hoods out there to finish off the car in style. My $1000 therapy turd is going to have less in it than it is worth. If you count my time, I would be down the trap with costs greater than the value - but as I mention above ... It is something that I e-n-j-o-y.

Perhaps life would be more pleasant, and less melancholy if you were to be a little less a nal retentive!
