fuel delivery troubles

I have been fighting this for two weeks now. When my ffpw pulls a long steep grade after it gets hot it will start to sputter then die. I have changed carb, pump, tank all fuel lines, installed the heat shields arround pump and carb. I have done fuel flow and pressure tests. The only odd thing I have noticed is air bubbles comming into the pump sediment bowl, and when it stops there is no fuel visable in the sediment bowl in front of the carb.Another thing after pulling Slickpoo road last night at dusk the ex manifold was glowing a dull red on the rear half. How normal is that?
