early/ late spur gear transmissions question

Need the national seal # for the output shaft and speedy sleave #. also, are the early spur gear and large spur gear PTO the same? I have an early(small) spur gear in my 48, and have a noise that I want to track down in it. I have a late spur gear(large) transmission that I want to install in its place. Thanks, john
