OK - I'll show my winch ingnorance: How would that work with the wire rope on the spool? Is there a clutch that disengages the spool, but allows the capstan shaft to continue turning? ... Or do you risk your fingers and feed the end-hook around the brackets each time it comes around the spool?
Paul - cute puppy! I tried to convince my wife to get a German Shepherd as I have fond memories of mine from childhood - but she was bitten by one when she was a kid and is scared to death of them now. So, we ended up getting a Golden Retriever ... a pretty dog, but lacking a little bit in the brain allotment!
