When I worked on the Clam boats in Chincoteague, VA, in the engine room, I had a plug that needed to come out of a pipe. They sent a fellow down from the yards in Salisbury, Md. to do some work on the Clam boat. He had been with these engines forever. I showed him the plug, and he begain to wrap on it with a small ball pein hammer. I had gone to get a large pipe wrench and pipe to slide over the pipe wrench for torque. When I turned the plug, I fell on my butt because the pinging using the ball pien hammer had crached the rust loose. As I recall he rapped on it for 15 to 20 minute. He had quite a grin on his face. So maybe raping on the top of the bolt with a small ball pien hammer for 20 minutes may loosen them up.
