thanks for your input. for my application, the selectros were the best choice. they look military (even more when painted) & do not detract from the olive drab / no shiny object theme im trying to maintain. i know i shouldn't but i admit that i use them as a step to check the oil, peek under the hood, etc, so i guess the fact they stick out a bit is a good thing. it would be a sin to paint your offering. good luck with your project & hope you sell a ton.
