The guy hiked out til he found someone to call an ambulance. The ambulance showed up along with the sheriff and the USFS. They cited him for the gate violation then asked him what he wanted done with the truck. He said well it is totaled. I'll just get my stuff out and leave it there. The USFS said "I don't think so". The wrecker that came up didn't have enough cable to reach it, so they had to bring is some kind of long reach cable truck. With some splicing and staking along the way they were able to get it back to the road. I don't know what it cost him but I'm sure it was in the thousands. I saw the rig after they towed it to the wrecking yard. You could hardly tell what make it was.
