PIF has schematics. The wire to the solenoid's "S" terminal should only be hot when starting the engine and should be connected to the ignition switch "S" terminal. If your ignition switch does not have an "S" terminal, then your need a remote starter switch connected into the system. If your 12V, then you need a ballest resister between the ignition switch "I" terminal and "+" terminal on the ignition coil. You will also need a wire from the solenoid's "I" terminal to the "+" terminal on the ignition coil to by-pass the ballast resister.
