Here is an image of my Good Roads Snowplow taken at the 07 VPW Rally. I had the entire plow and all of the attaching frame to the truck sandblasted in 1997. Shortly afterward, I applied POR15 with a brush to the entire plow and all of the attaching parts, with no prior prep. I then gave everything a top coat of Rustoleum Satin Black, applied from aerosol cans.

What you see is the result of 10 years of use. I don't use this plow every day, but when I do, I push a lot of heavy gravel and sod along with the snow. You can see the cutting edge is worn down to bare metal, especially on the corners that tend to dig into the earth under the snow. The rest of the moldboard is scuffed up from the gravel and the entire assembly has nicks and scrapes from chains and cables. The plow gets stored wet with mud and ice caked on it.

The attaching assembly components stay on the truck at all times so they have seen more weather, but have fared a little better as most of it is higher from the ground and does not see so many chains and cables drug across it. I have seen no lifting of the coating, or any migration of rust under it.

I would not expect anyone else to experience the same results from using POR15. I got lucky. It was quick, easy, and relatively cheap to use. It worked and I am happy with the results. It is just an old snowplow. I don't know if I would use the POR on anything more important.
