POR 15 is NOT a paint, it's a rust encapsulating product. When applied on non-rusty surfaces, it does not adhere. There are several here who have told their POR 15 horror stories.
POR 15 has it's place and purpose and it is not for painting. It only adheres to rust when wet, it does not adhere to new rust when dry.
My experience with power and coatings is exactly the opposite of Paul,...when the coater knows what they are doing.
Like any paint or coating, preparation and quality materials are key. If they cut corners in the application of powder, or use too low of a heat to flow the polymer, or have not properly prepped the surface, powder, like a poor paint job, will not last.
Most of my parts are powder coated and I have experienced no issues.
Every ATV or motorcycle built in the last 30 years has been powder coated, with excellent results.
I'd blame the coating process that Buckstop uses before I'd blame the concept.
If you are unsure, then do what Paul did and use a good quality paint.
