Im not sure about powder coating, but I have done ALL my parts so far with Por15. I did my frame last summer and its sitting in my driveway, not covered and it still looks like the day I painted it. (I think, since I havent been home in 42 days!!)
The only thing I've noticed is since I used the Por 15 black primer and the chassis coat black final coat, I missed a few spots. The primer is very UV sensitive and wil degrade if not covered with another coat of something.
The other money saving part is no sand basting. I blasted a few parts and Por 15 doesnt like that. Those parts are slowly peeling and bubbling. There must be rust for Por15 to work.
