If you trim 2" off the front of the bedsides, then the bed will be 2" shorter.

This means you will need to order wood for a 1966 D200 Utiline bed for example, and then cut off the front 2" of it.

That is if we all agree that the WM300 wheel well is 2" further forward then the wheel well on a 1966 D200 with an 8 foot Utiline bed. In either case the bed is 8 feet long as far as I know, so if the section between the cab and the wheel well is 2 inches longer, then the section between the wheel well and the tailgate is 2 inches shorter.

I have not tried this exact job myself, I am just thinking out the pitfalls.
