That's Patrick, it's his cannon, he calls me his 1st Leftenant, or the only other person in the neighborhood willing to mess around with a cannon. It's a replica of a British 3 pound howitzer commonly used during the Revolutionary War, crewed by 5 soldiers, or should a say dragged around by 5 soldiers. Years ago there was a reenactor group at his family's house (next house up the road), and they had a cannon. Patrick figured he had to get one himself. The reenactors were at his family's house because the house was built and owned by Capt. Coffeen, who served with the Continental Army. One year Coffeen's soldiers spent a winter on the property, and Coffeen submitted a bill to brand new US Government for food and wood used to support the soldiers. They were camped on the Crown Point Road which traverses the rally site. The Crown Point Rd was a military road connecting Ticonderoga with Boston. Twenty Mile Steam is 20 miles from Charleston NH, where the road was extended from, and where one of the your convoys is crossing the CT river. So you can consider your convoy a sort of a reenactor group.
