You can apply a little heat to the plug to help break the rust. You could try Paul NY method of heating it enough and apply candle wax to it. You can heat and cool it a couple of times to get the wax to penetrate. Do not over heat to the point that you burn the wax. Paul can help you on the exact method. The heat used in this method will not be sufficient to damage your head.
