Rallys vary from place to place in what they do. The biggest part of any rally is the interaction between people. You get to talk to people in person that you only have seen online. You get to discuss trucks and etc. You also have a good chance to look into and under other trucks to look at either complete stock trucks to see haw they come out of the factory. It is also a good time to see how people have modified their trucks for work or play. Some mods are quite good.

You hit is right on food. There is often lots of food and it can be either catered or done by the sponsors. To me these meals are great in themselves but also allows people to sit down and talk. It is a good chance for group activities.

The California rally, which I have been to every one so far, is really great. Yes they have a catered dinner on Saturday night and this year on Friday also. They also have a raffle where some great prizes are available. Individuals and many companies such as VPW, Paul (NY) maple products and other provide the prizes. They also usually have a silent auction for additional items. They also have a trail ride up into the ORV park on Saturday. Sunday is a short day as everyone is headed home. Saturday and Sunday morning, pastries coffee and juce are available to all. The event is held in the Hollister ORV park where they hold the Top Ten Truck Challenge (4X4 Magazine event). So people are often in the mud pit, teter toder and other obstacles and trails. This year the Top Ten Truck Challenge ended the Friday we arrived and we got to talk to and see some of those trucks (if you really want to call them trucks) I talked to the winning team for awhile Friday afternoon.

My wife always comes and we have had the grandkids the last couple of years. The California rally is a family event.
