Checking today, diesel here is 15% more expensive than gas/petrol, so if you get double the milage with diesel then you are saving 35% at least which won't take long to pay for the conversion if you use it. If your diesel car / truck conversion would just be 15% more efficient in MPG it has no cost advantage.

Side note, $5000 would buy you 1900 litres of diesel here, about 340 UK gallons, at 10 to the gallon that's 3400 miles.

That's why lots of people here have Dodges that don't get much use - including me. Fuel is so expensive that even a good diesel conversion doesn't make a truck a usable proposition, and with a collectable Dodge it is sometimes worth keeping the value in the original factory configuration and just paying what you have to.

Back to the trucks then... 8~)
