Yesterday I purchased some MG Alloys MG-240 3/32 dia. nickle rod for building up a spark plug seat on a Dodge flathead. Of the rods I've used in the past, this is the best, good penatration and machinability. I used 70 amps and welded 3/8ths lengths, stopped to grind, and continued welding/grinding until I completed the circle. If you have not tried this brand, you may want to. Price of nickle rod ranges from $75 to $20 a pound. This MG was $20 a pound.
