From what I have read, the trucks that the NDF own, were pulled for mantinance.
What I read into that is than the trucks that are on loan to your vol. department are not being maintained by your department. If a truck should break down at a fire or not be able to respond, whose liability is it? You think a lawyer is going to go after a group of 20 volenteers? No way. The deep pockes are in the State and Federal agencies.
That is my take on it based on all the information that has been provided. If there is something else going on, than you should let us know about it Brent.
I let my neighbor borrow a 1940 VFA-32 that I had to get his hay for a year or so.
I'll never forget the day he handed me a receipt for having the brakes completely gone through. He used this free every week hauling heavy loads of hay and exected me to pay for the wear and tear that he put on it.
