When I was young, the dentist said I should probably have them surgically removed because they'd be likely to grow crooked or cause problems. I'm not keen on removing body parts just because they might cause a problem for me someday so I left them and they grew in straight and worked fine. I figured I might as well keep all the teeth I could in case I needed them someday. Eventually they got cavities and I had them pulled one at a time as each one started to hurt. Maybe they come out easier that way, or maybe it's just a lot easier getting them out one at a time rather than all at once, but I didn't have any problem with it. I guess my approach to medical problems is sort of like my approach to truck problems -- if it's not obvious what's wrong, don't mess with it until it is.
