Don and Todd and everone else. We all know driving our beasts is the most fun of all, and having any WWII mv (especially a Dodge) to me is the cream of the crop. We with WWII dodges all hear the casual observer come up and say, "what year is that Willis", (pronounced Willis, not willy's) or " Wow, look at the jeep !". I try not to be annoyed by these experts, and then give them a quick education. Yesterday, I drove my WC4 to the watermelon car show in Chipley, Florida, 60 miles north of me. All back roads, and I also saw a huge black approaching thunderhead. Fortunately for me I was under the awning at the gas station and waited out the downpour and lightening. The rest of the trip was good, except for being sweatty hot. I did park close to a guy with a 38 Ford sedan that was 82, retired military. First in the Navy for 12 years, and he was a gunner on a TBF in the pacific when he was like 18, flying off a carrier. After 12 years in the navy, (he was in Korea also), he switched hats and ended up retiring as some rank of General in the reserves (not sure if Army of Air Force)
