I agree but that problem is specific to the short block engines. The center point of the piston pin in the rod is not aligned directly over the center of the connecting rod. so on the short block engines there is a fight going on between the little end and the big end of the rods. The longer 236,251,265 etc are longer because everything is straight up and down, no offset piston pin. Therefore they will outlast the short blocks. Personally I have never had a 230 let go even whe over winding them with reckless abandon offroad. But I have seenthe rods let go on other peoples stuff. So it is the rod set up not the crank material that is the downside of the short blocks.
