Both the 6 volt one and the 24 volt one have bendixes (bendices?). If I had a 12-volt or a 24-volt foot-pedal type starter, I'd put it in. My beater M37 has a 6-volt pedal type, or I'd use it. You might be right about it being industrial. I know forklifts, combines, and stationary power plants all used 230s, though I don't know that any of them would have a 24 volt system. Kind of strange to me to have a 24 volt starter if it's not military. I may just go ahead and use it if it bolts up and spins the engine. It wouldn't be that hard to swap in a pedal type one if I got one someday. I don't think I dare keep the 6 volt one on a 24 volt system, though.
