I agree about those trucks. If they were within 100 miles, they'd be mine now. By my reckoning, just transporting them from MN to ID would run at least half the price of the trucks these days. Besides, I'm really wondering what's the point of restoring these old trucks if 10 years from now there's going to be no fuel. I don't go much for conspiracy theories, but I just read that global oil production has been flat for the past 3 years. If tripling the price hasn't scared more oil out of the ground, maybe there isn't any more to scare out.

Snow's gone in town except for the two big piles. We've had cold rain for the last few days, but only snow on the high hills. I can drive up to about 3500' in the hills now before I hit much snow. The pass to my cabin's 4700', so it'll be a no-go for a long time still. I may try driving up from the other side (the low route) the next time we get a sunny spell. The high point that way is 3500'. The county has Moon Pass open which at least makes it shorter than going through St Maries. How's the weather in your neck of the woods? I read that a pretty enthusiastic hail storm came through Spokane tonight, with marble-sized hail. I'm thinking when our cold low finally moves east and hits that hot humid air APB was talking about, there's going to be some fireworks.

Couple of funny articles in the Seattle paper -- one says it's the coldest June since 1885, the other says they're going to ban beach fires at Alki to reduce global warming. Only in Seattle!
