I was given a third member complete and ready to bolt in to an axle housing. It has an 8&3/4 inch WC 1/2 ton 4.89 ring and pinion in it. The odd thing is that it is a four pinion differential. All 1/2 and early 3/4 ton trucks used a 2 pinion Diff. It appears the side gears on this unit are larger than the side gears on the 2 pinion unit. Do I need to buy 3/4 ton axle shafts for it. Will the 3/4 ton axle shafts work in a 1/2 ton axle tube and whell hub? Thanks for any info.
