The first Helitool mod I did was the front disc brakes. I kept the original master cyl. and the brakes worked fine. I did not need to install the residual pressure valve.
When I did the V-8 conversion, I went with the hanging pedals and the brake booster, with the larger master cyl. that Paul mentioned. At that point I did have to install the residual pressure valve.
I think the answer to Marks question is yes, the original master will work with FRONT disc brakes. I cant believe it would work with discs front and rear, but thats not what he asked. At least it worked well for me!
