...PACKED traffic, people were actually sharing lanes i.e. two cars next to each other while driving in town bumper-to-bumper. No order in driving, people cutting people off etc. Took us 1-1/2 hours to go on a 20 minute drive to the Hotel. Today visited Red Square. Tried to get back to our hotel after we visited a GIGANTIC mall next to Red Square and we could not get through because it was all blocked off with over 500 police, 500 troops, 500 Army Officers, troop carriers, etc., etc. Most were standing 4 feet apart in lines. Told my wife "Back to the hotel----NOW!" found out today was a commemerative to the tomb of the unknown soldier, but still it was a bit spooky. NO official was saying why they were there. My Russian language is limited and REAL limited.
