You got a good coil/condenser match if there is no build up on either 'point'. Metal transfer to one side means too much capacitance, other side means too little. But don't ask me which is which.

Okay, Go ahead ask: Per my 1942 Motors manual, Build up on the negative side means over capacitance, build up on the + side means too low mfd's.

Just perchance, the 12v cond may work with that particular coil.

"Buyer's guides" will usually list the mfd's of the part numbers- if your parts guy will let you look in his.
