I had a buyer interested in my 1970 W300, so a few weeks back, he asked that I remove the drums and inspect the brakes..I ended up replacing all the shoes and the wheel cylinders, only to find that the drums are still in near mint condition!! With adjusters fully retracted, I actually had to drive the rear drums on! Then afetr test drive I only had to adjust a couple of clicks! The fronts were in the same condition, Short of taking a drum micrometer to them, these are about the best drums I have ever had on a W300! Plus they are the single wheel type too! I was impressed! I road tested after a second adjustment and it stops like no other W300 I have ever driven! ( I have personally owned 9 different W300s, both single tire and duallys!) At least the next person to own this truck will not have to worry about drums for a while!!!
