I didnt think you would need to shift into any gear to load on a trailer, you should beable to just put it into first and drive it up the ramps!
Seriously though, you must be talking about down shifting, because I have never needed to double clutch for up shifting.
Have you checked to make sure the clutch is adjusted properly??
