I guess it has a lot with companies trying to outdo each each and engineers not knowing what they're asking for that has led to alot of it. Most of our dimensions are guarenteed with .0002 or it will be replaced for free and you keep the old part. So trust me, they check!

We get prints all the time carried out to .00000 places which makes it by the tolerance block +/- .0001 automatically. Customers don't realize how much the print drawers/engineers cost them by doing this. That kind of a tolerance on something as simple as a wrench flat is insane.

Sad part is most don't need it that tight and you wouldn't believe the amount of stuff that is junk just because of .0001 undersize. It is just SO wasteful. Kevin
