Any difference (if there is any) is in the additives.

Of course, with todays standards, I doubt if there is much room for individuality. What's all the gobbledy gook on the label? ANSI, API, GL-5,(or 6?)... Lots of standards to meet. It's easier to make sales via hype than by making a better product.

Then there is the 'cheap owner' confounding. Like, the cheap owner buys cheap oil,then never changes it. So, is the sludge the fault of the oil, or the owner?

Oh, the cheap owner also put battery ends on instead of new cables. So is it the oil's fault that the starter goes bad too?
