Yup, those are the mufflers I'm talking about. I like em.

I've found that the mufflers, running boards and fuel tank are the most vulnerable under parts on the M37. Tried to punch out the engine oil pan on my V8, but didn't quite get it done ;>

As to the running boards, I chopped about half the stock brackets and welded on some 2"x6" rectangular tubing in place of the sheet metal boards, and now I can fab some skid plates that run from the frame rails to the inner edge of the tubing. Covering up the mufflers is the only thing that I think will really save the mufflers on this truck from rocks. Plus, adding yet more steel will help give me the extra ballast I need to keep my too light truck from floating up off the ground.

Also, after hanging up the side dump exh pipes, I've gone to a straight down dump right before where it used to 45 out to the side like yours do. Now rocks can just pass right along the side of the truck to the tire without hitting any exhaust parts. Trying to figure this out as I go along!
