Thanks to Cabell Garbee and friends for hosting this excellent event. The OHV trails in the Uwharrie National Forest are incredible! Challenging hill climbs, rock gardens, hairpin turns, switchbacks, etc. The trucks, from Kieth Beard's stock 1946 WDX to Cabell's diesel M-37, to Jay's 1966 Townie all did great. No show trucks in attendance. Wendel, my 1954 C1-PW, did really well with the new Lock-Right installed im the rear. The transfer case slipped out of low range a few times, and the starter pedal slipped off the plunger once, but other than that, the truck perfomed flawlessly. The weather was ideal for camping. 2000 Ford F-350 with the 7.3 liter Powerstoke and automatic transmission got 12 mpg. towing the PW in the mountains of WV, and 14 mpg. on the flatlands of NC. Will post pictures soon. Anyone with pictures of Wendel, please share. Hope to see some of the southern crew at our little rally in WV in October.
