Aren't gear teeth carefully hardened and heat treated? If so, heating them re-hot would ruin the heat treatment and they wouldn't last long. Also, brazing is much softer than hard steel,so the brazed-up pits would wear until they were a little lower than the steel at which point they wouldn't be carrying any load. Bottom line is it seems to me you'd be just as well off running it with the pitted gears and just seeing how it goes. Worst case, you have to replace the ring anyway. Best case, you get good life out of the pitted one. I would change the oil after a few hundred miles, since rust and metal dust is going to work its way out of things and into the oil. After that, just drive it and see how it does. Might be fine.
