If the inside plate seals against the rubber inside of the hose like it should, and like all the water outlet tubes do, no water should get as far as the threads, and so the threads don't need any sealant. Putting sealant on the threads would be like putting sealant on the threads of a flare fitting -- it would just be temporarily hiding some other problem.
